On October 31, Kanazawa University MIRAICHI Research Center held a J-PEAKS networking event at Kanazawa University attended by about 40 people from companies, local governments, high schools, and university affiliates. This event was planned as an optional program for the Stakeholder Council.
At the opening of the event, Trustee Shinichi Nakamura, Executive Director of the Kanazawa University J-PEAKS Promotion Headquarters, delivered the opening remarks and provided an overview of the initiative. This was followed by Professor Hiroshi Hasegawa, Director of the MIRAICHI Research Center, who introduced the center’s facilities. Then, Professor Takuzo Takayama, Executive Director of the Steering Headquarters of the MIRAICHI Research Center, presented the Co-Creation Planning Office. ?In addition, Associate Professor Toshio Sakamoto of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology, Institute of Science and Engineering, Professor Yoshikazu Jomura of Cancer Research Institute, and Associate Professor Asami Mashio of the Faculty of Chemistry, Institute of Science and Engineering, introduced the "Showcase" which depicted the future society they wanted to realize. This was followed by a facility tour of MIRAICHI Research Center, a poster session by students involved in showcase research, and a networking event. The event was conducted in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish, providing a valuable opportunity to deepen exchanges with people from a variety of fields.
In the future, we will further enhance our support for strengthening research capabilities and social implementation through J-PEAKS, and will take university-wide actions to "advance basic and interdisciplinary research" and "accelerate social implementation" with the aim of forming a "world-class center that continues to create discontinuous innovation," which is our vision for the next 10 years.
