As a part of its student support program, Health Service Center held the "Tasting Event for Easy Vegetable-Rich Breakfast Soup — Supported by JASSO" on October 22, 27, and 29 at the Natural Science and Technology Main Hall, the School of Health Sciences Hall 3 at Tsuruma Campus, and the General Education Lecture Hall. The purpose of this tasting event was to prevent students from missing breakfast by introducing simple recipes of soups and other dishes. This time, soup was provided free of charge through the "Food Support Project in Response to Rising Prices" by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).

The menu featured two seasonal soups: "Pumpkin Cream Chowder" made with seasonal pumpkin and clams, and "Chicken Meatball Red Miso Soup" made with autumn vegetables and red miso. Student crew members, who are student volunteers at the center, served the soups under the guidance of a licensed dietitian, along with recipe handouts. The event attracted many students at each venue, with 121 servings distributed at the Natural Science and Technoloy Main Hall, 125 at the School of Health Sciences Hall 3 at Tsuruma Campus, and 138 at the General Education Lecture Hall.

The event received very positive feedback from students, with comments such as the following: "It was a perfect warming soup for today's slightly chilly weather," "I was thankful that we could have hot soup for free. Pumpkin is in season now and inexpensive, so I definitely want to make it myself," "It was very delicious. Especially the Chicken Meatball Red Miso Soup was very good because I could not find the recipe by myself," "It warmed my heart!"

Health Service Center is planning to hold additional soup tasting events in November and December.
