On August 17, Kanazawa University students, international students, faculty and staff participated in the Kiriko Grand Festival praying for the reconstruction of Noto, that was held in Shiinoki Cultural Complex. Together with Wajima citizens, general participants, and students and faculty members of Hokuriku University, Kanazawa Institute of Technology, and Toyo University, students carried a mikoshi with a total weight of more than 1 ton and walked to the area around Ohori-dori Street.
On August 23, students and faculty members from Kanazawa University participated in the Juzo Shrine Grand Festival, one of the Wajima Grand Festivals held in Wajima City, as mikoshi bearers. Departing from the Juzo Shrine, they carried the mikoshi passing through Marine Town and the morning street. In addition, nine Kiriko were paraded, and fireworks were set off at night, making it a great success.
In addition, students from Kanazawa University volunteer Saport Station together with the leader Kaisei Harada from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management supported the preparation and removal of the shrine and Kiriko together with specialists.
