On August 7 and 8, an open lecture entitled "3D Pen Craft Workshop for Parents and Children" was held at Kakumachi Plaza. This lecture was held with the aim of generating ideas for manufacturing among children. A total of 38 pairs of elementary school students and their parents participated.

At the beginning, Mr. Shinichi Hayashi, a regional advisor to industry, academia, and government at Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative, who served as a lecturer, explained the mechanism of the 3D pen and tips for hardening molten resin, and explained that it is possible to create an infinite number of works depending on the idea.

Next, the elementary school students chose a development diagram of the subject they wanted to work on and, together with their parents, created a piece of art using their favorite colors and designs.

The students commented: "I thought it was an ordinary pen, but I was surprised by the strange sensation" and "I was excited to think of something I wanted to make in the future". It was an opportunity to experience the joy of manufacturing.
