In 2020, Kanazawa University was selected by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for "Human Resource Development Project to Support a Knowledge-Based Society (DP)," and working on the "Program for Developing Social Change Leaders with Integrated Specialized Knowledge and Sharp, Rapid Advances in Knowledge." Since 2021, this program has been running a special program called the "Leading STEAM Human Resource Development Program (KU-STEAM)," which puts into practice integrated liberal arts and college education for students in all undergraduate schools, and in 2023, the first graduates were produced. As of July 2024, the number of graduates has reached 274.

On July 30, we held a round-table meeting with the graduates of the KU-STEAM Human Resource Development Program for Leading STEAM (KU-STEAM). Four graduates from each college of Fusion, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Engineering participated in the meeting and presented their learning and insights gained through this program to Trustee Morimoto, Vice President Ojima (Head of the Center for Management of Teaching and Learning)? and to other faculty members of the Center for Management of Teaching and Learning faculty in charge of KU-STEAM development. Then participants exchanged opinions on how to apply their learning to their future studies and career path after graduation, and how to improve the program.

Through their participation in KU-STEAM, the graduates commented that they could "exchange with students with different values and backgrounds beyond college and school,"? "it was fun to practice in a community-based company," "awareness, challenge, and practical ability gained from failure," and "interest and interest gained by trying things they do not know and are not good at" The program provided an opportunity to reaffirm the value of learning.

KU-STEAM aims to develop leading STEAM talent who will proactively deepen their knowledge of other fields while focusing on their own field of expertise, and take on the challenge of solving future problems by practicing interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration. We will continue to further promote STEAM education and integrated education of the humanities and sciences, and work to develop and produce talent who can create new value in response to social issues.
