On June 7, 2018, the 2018 Japan-Taiwan Presidents’ Forum took place at Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima, and Advisor to the President (International Affairs) Shigeo Tanaka attended as the proxy of the President.

The theme of the forum was “Promoting education and research cooperation in line with the globalizing society.” Participating universities reported their activities on collaborative degree programs, exchange programs, and promoting research exchanges, and active discussions took place.

The next forum will be hosted by National Chi Nan University in Taiwan in 2020. There is anticipation for further enrichment of exchanges between the universities in Japan and Taiwan.
