On August 8, public lecture entitled "Metal Casting Experiment (Let's Pour Molten Tin into an Oil Clay Mold)" was held at the Kakuma Campus. 15 students from elementary school students to people in their 70s participated in lecture.

First, lecturer Yoji Miyajima - Associate Professor from Institute of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering gave a lecture on the definition and structure of metals. After explanation of the casting process and demonstration, students made molds using clay to pour molten tin into and made figurines and small cups molded from small objects they had brought with them.

Students commented: "I made a few mistakes, but it was a lot of fun!" and "I enjoyed the lecture because it followed the content of the experiments!" The lecture provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of metals, which are a familiar part of our daily lives.
