As part of its student support efforts, Health Service Center held a nutrition education program, "Tasting simple breakfast soup with plenty of vegetables," in the Natural Sciences Building and the General Education Lecture Building for two days on June 26th and July 4th.
The purpose of this tasting event was to prevent students from skipping breakfast by introducing them to simple recipes for soups and other dishes. Student volunteers from the center, under the guidance of a registered dietitian, provided take-out soups with recipes. Many students attended, and both venues sold out.
The menu was "Miso soup with the aroma of summer vegetables, easy to eat in the hot summer" and "Anmitsu with shiratama tofu, perfect for summer." The comments were such as "It was delicious, with plenty of vegetables and fruit," "The menu is different every time, so it's delicious, so I try to participate in almost all of them," "The anmitsu sold out, so I'd like to take revenge!" and "This event is a great opportunity to try out new things! I really like it."
This tasting event was co-sponsored by KEYPAT*, and vegetable juices were distributed to soup buyers by the Ishikawa Dietetic Association as disaster relief aid.
